Built many years ago as a villa, La Villarosa is today an hotel de charme offering an understated but sophisticated atmosphere, with its antique furnishings and prints, all fine pieces of Sicilian and Neapolitan craftsmanship, which give the guests’ rooms their special flavour and provide a feeling of cordial welcome in the common rooms.With a completely renovated spa facility and a comfortable thermal swimming pool in the heart of its lush and ample garden, the Villarosa is an oasis of friendly tranquillity in the centre of Porto d’Ischia, only 200 metres from the sea.Eucaliptus, bougainvillea, banana plants, olives, pine trees, fig trees and palms are only a part of the variety of vegetation which forms the luxurious and shady covering of the hotel. A small botanical garden with a somewhat tropical air, the product of forty years of careful nurturing and very selective grafts, covers the house to the north and west, crowned by a centuries-old Mediterranean pine which rises more than 20 metres over the swimming pool.

Old colonial villa, the hotel La Villarosa was changed into an hotel at the end of the fiftieths. Now a days has a strong charm, the villa has maintained the original atmosphere of the period. The hotel has a living room where you can read and also comfortable rooms situated on three floors, each one furnished in a different way, with furniture and ornaments from the Napolitan, Sicilian and France period. The comfort is unreached from the thermal swimming pool, placed in the garden, with falling water and whirlpool. The hall of the bar is directly open on the edge of the swimming pool. The living room is really suggestive, with its roof garden, situated on the last floor of the building, offers a wonderful view on the gulf of Naples, on the village of Ischia and on the surrounding hills.

On the top floor of the hotel are the two ample dining rooms, which boast panoramic views of the bay, the Aragonese castle and Sant Alessandro Hill. The dining rooms open onto the roof garden, a splendid terrace facing the sea and overlooking the roofs of Porto d’Ischia and the old Bourbon port, and with the thick pinewood of the Montagnone rising behind.
